Dear River Hills,

While Winter is still officially 18 days away, all you need to do is look around to see that the Ski Season is now upon us!   For those of you that made it to the Killington Cup this past weekend, you know the season has begun!…. The World Cup racing was amazing!  The Bands and Fireworks were super! The Skiing really very good (plus a fresh 8” of new snow since Sunday afternoon!) and we had first hand evidence that Molly, our new cook, is going to be a tremendous success!

As to today, we had our December meeting/ Holiday party last night @ Lori and Stu Contstantine’s house, a big THANK YOU to LORI and STU!!

The goal of the Holiday Party/December Meeting is to focus our time together on the social joys of River Hills, and I also know that not everyone can make it in live. Therefore, I am going to use this note to share a few updates with everyone.

This is a longer email, (please read to the bottom) we will cover three key topics that are important:
1. An FYI on a job well done with Coordinator training and our first Virtual RHSC member meeting!
2. Reminders for a successful season.
3. Very Important Policy change with regard to Guest Confirmation and Cancelation Policy.

1. FYI – We had tremendous feedback to our first “Virtual” monthly meeting…  We had a huge turnout for our November meeting and covered a ton of information! THANK YOU to Sheila Evers for leading the Coordinator training session and to all of you that ask such great questions!  We have officially registered more than 50 members that have completed the annual coordinator training! For those that missed it, please reply to this message and Brendan will forward the training link.  The virtual format will be an option for upcoming meetings, especially in those months where, historically, we have had low turnout at the Long Ridge Tavern. We know it is tough at times to travel to Stamford to join us in person and this will provide a strong vehicle to continue interaction within the club and share key information. We will communicate clearly and in plenty of time the venue for each meeting.  Thank you again to those who joined and keep the feedback coming!

1. Seasonal Reminder! –  As we head into our busiest time, we want to highlight a couple of housekeeping items.
*This is a lot of fun and we are very fortunate to have such an awesome club!   Please take the time to interact with everyone at the club, we have a lot of very interesting and fun members that would enjoy getting to know you better!  Also, do introduce yourselves to our guests, let’s help them see why this is such a great place to join!  Remember, we are always looking for new members and you are our best marketeers!
*Make sure you check the board when you arrive at the lodge and know what your job/jobs are for the weekend. The reason the club runs so well is that our members all chip in. It isn’t the responsibility of the weekend coordinator to track you down…  also, if you see something beyond your assigned duty, please jump in! it makes it better for all of us!
*There is No Smoking/Vaping inside the lodge, this includes the bedrooms.
*While we focus on making it comfortable for all, we do have a long standing club rule that you should wear a robe or appropriate PJs when wondering the halls. While I am sure you look awesome in your boxers, not everyone wants to see it.
*Illness Guidelines for Lodge Visits- Please be considerate of other Club members staying at the Lodge, we love you, but, not that much:
***If you have had a contagious illness such as influenza or gastroenteritis (vomiting and diarrhea), please do not visit the Lodge until you have been free of fever, vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours.
***While at the Lodge, please practice good hand washing and wipe down the sink and surrounding areas with disinfectant wipes (available in all bathrooms at the Lodge).
*If you have guests, it is your responsibility to help them with duties and rules.
*Be courteous, when you get 40 people in one lodge, there will be different schedules… please just be aware of your noise levels.

1. New Guest Confirmation and Cancelation Policy!  –  One of the big items that we have heard is a desire from our membership to be able to share the club with your friends. The challenge historically has been that our policy (only confirming guests 10 days prior to reservation) as a result of that short window for guests to plan their schedules, many times they had made other arrangements. Therefore, we are now going to confirm guest reservations 3 weeks prior to the reservation. The implication for our members is that you will need to make reservations and make them early…. You are still our first priority and as always, you will be confirmed upon reservation!  Our Cancelation policies remain very lenient for all members and guests, although you should note that we have implemented a bit more notice for guests, this is in conjunction with the increased confirmation time.  Please read the slide below, it highlights the changes… the Manual is being updated as I type.

That’s all for now, keep an eye out for more communication, let us know your comments and Make your reservations now!  It is going to be an awesome season!
